San Diego is the Micro-Brewery Capital of America. But this weekend, The Del Mar Fair will be hosting the San Diego International Beer Festival that features beers from around the country and around the world. This annual event is Southern California’s largest beer festival, hosting hundreds of beers for 14 different countries. Learn about pairing various foods with your favorite style of beer. There will also be a number of “Unique Beer Centric” vendors to visit. Last year, over 10,000 beer enthusiasts attended.
It is a bit pricey to get in: $61. Non-drinking admission is only $15. The Festival is open Friday, June 17 (12 noon to 4 pm, and 5 pm to 9 pm), Saturday, June 18 (11 am to 3 pm, and 4 pm to 8 pm), and Sunday, June 19 (12 noon to 4 pm). The Fairgrounds are accessible using the Coaster, Sprinter or Breeze rail lines. If you are driving, exit Via De La Valle off the 5 Freeway. You can also cut through S6 (State Route 6 -Del Dios Highway) from Escondido.
